The SAGES Education & Research Foundation awards grants that allow for 15% for indirect costs (also known as facilities and administrative costs or overhead). Applicants are advised to structure their budgets accordingly.
This grant award does not support faculty salaries or academic appointment compensation. Applicants should ensure that all requested funds are directed toward allowable project costs such as research materials, program implementation, or trainee support.
Availability of Grants: An expected total of $600,000 to $675,000 will be allocated in 2025-2026. The SAGES Foundation will consider grant requests between $1,000 to $100,000.
Deadline: Submissions are now closed. Applications will be reviewed in late September and notification of approvals will occur in October. The Grant Review Committee will not accept proposals submitted after the deadline.
Evaluation of Applications: Grant applicants must structure their proposal as described in the application guidelines. Applications are reviewed by the SAGES Foundation’s Grants Review Committee and approved by the Board of Directors. Analysis of applications includes a determination of whether a request meets the basic funding criteria of the SAGES Foundation, including consistency with its programmatic goals, objectives, and priorities; clearly articulated pathways to achieving results; and the potential for measurable impact. A request for additional information may be required after application submission. Due to the volume of applications, the SAGES Foundation is unable to fund all requests submitted for consideration.
