Annually, SAGES offers eleven (11) major awards and four (4) scholarships that recognize excellence in surgical innovation, education, research, leadership, and advocacy. While all awards are open to nominations from SAGES Board and committee members, seven (7) of the major awards also welcome nominations from the general membership.
Submitted nominations will be reviewed by the Awards Committee, which will select a slate of recommended recipients during its Fall Committee meeting. The slate will then be presented to the SAGES Board of Governors for ratification at the Fall Board Meeting. Awardees will be notified in December and asked to submit additional materials at that time. All recipients will be formally recognized during the SAGES Annual Meeting in March.
